The City of Inverness is the largest municipality in the County and continues to grow at a managed pace. Residents take pride in being the County Seat of Government and becoming the principal hub for special events, culture and activity. Bordered by forests and lakes, natural resources have been protected and managed to provide a wealth of outdoor opportunities for family enjoyment. We are a community with a strong vested interest to respect our history and environment, while positioning itself for future growth.
3 mile north of downtown Inverness you’ll find The LakeSide Country Club, it’s 18-hole championship course has wide oak and pine tree-lined fairways and large undulating greens guarded by 51 sand traps. LakeSide Country Club has four holes playing around an abandoned phosphate mine with long par 5’s and numerous doglegs, making unusual layouts not typical of most Florida courses. LakeSide Country Club was open to the public in 1979. It was designed by Bill Campbell and Luis Connell.
